Take On Me

Introspect

So I find myself alone again,
But I'm living through the pain.
Yes, your love meant everything to me,
But you were just to blind to see.

You will run away yet again,
When someone gets too close to you,
When all they want to give is love,
And all they want to be is friends.

Runaway, run away, don't get to close to me.
Throwing away what you want the most,
And in the end you'll be a prisoner,
To your need to be free.

Yet I still see a distant light,
Buried deep inside of you,
Underneath the rubble of attitude,
Is the person I once knew.

I can't bare to be to close,
And can't stand being far away,
Unsolicited love and stubborn hope
Extinguish fear and drive good sense away.

And just what is it that you are running from?
Or is it what you're running to?
You seem to hop around a lot,
Looking for your perfect view.

Water colours run in the rain,
And oil colours fade over time.
And in each case the view stays the same,
Because it's only surface, not inside.
