Once in a while I feel helpless,
Like a boat out on the water in a storm.
I can never find the safest place to be,
When surrounded by my troubles out of norm.
Can you feel it shaking you sometimes?
The wind comes by to lift you out of place.
Then comes the calm within the raging storm.
I close my eyes to see your smiling face,
And hear you say "The wind is there,
To aid you in your urge to fly free,
Lifting you up full from the ground,
Like a leaf blown free from its tree".
I lay awake on stormy nights, watching,
As the lightning paints shadows on my wall.
Living the silence of the moment, waiting,
For the thunder to throw echoes down the hall.
Raindrops dance on my window panes,
Flowing into lighted pools,
Laughing as they call to me,
"Why aren't you dancing, fool?
We should wash away your fears,
Get lost within our song,
The rhythm in our melodies,
Will carry you along."
Floating on a stormy sea,
Helpless, but I too am free.
I am sensitive yet calm,
To emotions as they all surround.
Suspended as the stars at night.
That`s where I can be found.
